The Catholic Parish of Holy Family
Our Archbishop John and all the Bishops of Wales and England are encouraging us to return to the practice of receiving our Blessed Lord in Holy Communion in both the sacred host and from the chalice, every time we come to holy Mass. This is how the Lord gave himself to us, at the Last Supper, the night before he was executed when he gave his church the authority and power to celebrate holy Mass. We are being more faithful to how he wishes us to receive his saving love, in Holy Communion, when we receive ‘under both kinds.’ However, we are, of course, receiving the Lord ‘whole and entire’ if we receive him only, ‘under one kind.’ I would very much like to invite you, though to receive the Lord in the way he gave himself to us, both in the sacred host and his precious blood from the chalice. Our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will administer the chalice for you.
